Prepaid packs mean not having to sign up to a contract or pay bills
and rental every month. It is becoming extremely popular because
there is no commitment, no contract and especially, no monthly bills
to pay. Most starter packs with handset start below $100, and they
are very simple to get connected as everything needed to start up
is in the box.
In order to keep the phone connected, users simply buy vouchers (or
top-up cards) with airtime call credits.
The major mobile operators
in Russia are MTS, BeeLine, and Megafon (which operate in GSM
900/1800 standard). The GSM standard is the same as in Europe, however,
different from USA and Canada. These three companies cover most major
cities in Russia, although the coverage and connection quality varies.
The smaller networks are SkyLink and Tele2 - they both work in Analogue
CDMA standard, which is wide-spread in the America and Asia. SkyLink
offers very good deals on fast-internet access through the phone
and is worth considering if you are going to use your phone in Moscow
and St. Petersburg.
Each network has its own pros and contras,
with each offering differing call charges, connection quality, special
deals. If you would like to know what network is best for you, please,
contact us telling how you will be using your phone and in which
Russian cities. We will then be able to advise you on the tariff
that suits your needs best.
We can also provide direct city mobile numbers (imagine having
a mobile number with Moscow city code!) and lower corporate tariffs with
discounts (if you require more than 4 subscriptions).
We can also advise on the best network to use for fast GPRS internet
connection.
Pricing:
Rental price for a handset: $5 US per day, discount 2% every day of
usage from the total amount (maximum discount: 60%). Minimum order:
$50 US.
SIM cards with already $15 on the account are provided. Security deposit
$50 is fully refunded to you when you return the mobile phone.
Rental price for a SIM card: we consider it is always cheaper if you
buy a prepaid SIM pack. However, if you need a direct Moscow telephone
as your mobile number, we can provide this service to you for a subscription
fee of $150 US (includes $75 US of airtime credit).
